De huidige aanbevelingen volgens de FIRE beweging adviseren om de 4% -regel te volgen: als je eenmaal 25x je jaarlijkse uitgaven hebt bespaard, zou je financieel onafhankelijk zijn. Met een nestei van deze grootte kun je 4% van de beginhoofdsom opnemen (jaarlijks en gecorrigeerd voor inflatie) met een minimale kans dat je ooit zonder geld komt te zitten. De 4% -regel komt van een onderzoek dat werd uitgevoerd toen de obligatierendementen veel hoger waren dan nu, en er is ook geen garantie dat de aandelenrendementen van de toekomst die van het verleden zullen weerspiegelen. Een regel van 2% of 3% kan in de toekomst logischer zijn, dus je moet er zeker van zijn dat je genoeg gespaard hebt – het leven kan onverwacht duur zijn of duurder worden!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Als je in het verleden een slechte werkervaring hebt gehad, weet dan dat elke werkomgeving anders is. Financieel onafhankelijk zijn, sluit werk absoluut niet uit als een optie, maar het stelt je wel in staat om werk te vinden dat past bij je interesses en levensstijl – op de manier hoe jij dat wenst. Bovendien zorgt het binnenkomen van extra geld ervoor dat je minder afhankelijk bent van het zuurverdiende en opgebouwde spaargeld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
