Het gaat er niet om de ‘waarheid’ te ontdekken of schuldgevoelens te voelen in elk van deze situaties. In plaats daarvan, wat is de mentaliteit waar je je toevlucht toe neemt als er zich een moment van nood voordoet? Je kunt jouw interne locus of control vergroten door te leren verantwoordelijkheid te nemen voor de uitkomst van een situatie in plaats van de schuld af te schuiven op iemand of iets anders dan jouzelf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stel je je toekomstige doelen voor en het pad dat je zou willen nemen om daar te komen. Bestaat dat pad uit gedachten als “als dit gebeurt”, “ik hoop dat ze mijn inspanning zullen zien”, of “het zal wat geluk vergen”? Dan heb je een externe locus of control. Je ziet toekomstig succes in wat jij probeert te bereiken als afhankelijk van iemand anders of een gebeurtenis die moet plaatsvinden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Om je interne locus of control te vergroten, verander je gedachten in “wanneer ik dit voor elkaar krijg”, “wanneer ze mijn inspanning zien” of “vastberadenheid, geen geluk zal me naar mijn toekomstige doelen brengen”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
